This is the basic tomato pasta – became known as ‘poor pasta’ by neighbours in Budapest who loved it – and the fact that is is dirt cheap!
- a few tins of diced tomatoes
- lots of chopped garlic
- dried oregano and basil
- olive oil
- spaghetti or any pasta
- Heat olive oil and add chopped garlic, when sizzling add tomatoes, dried herbs and pepper.
- Simmer gently while cooking pasta.
- Pour sauce on top of pasta Serve with grated parmesan and a salad.
