Szegény Tészta


Poor Pasta
This is the basic tomato pasta – became known as ‘poor pasta’ by neighbours in Budapest who loved it – and the fact that is is dirt cheap!

Ingredients

  • a few tins of diced tomatoes
  • lots of chopped garlic
  • dried oregano and basil
  • pepper
  • olive oil
  • spaghetti or any pasta

Directions

  1. Heat olive oil and add chopped garlic, when sizzling add tomatoes, dried herbs and pepper.
  2. Simmer gently while cooking pasta.
  3. Pour sauce on top of pasta
    4. Serve with grated parmesan and a salad.
