• 1 kg mince beef
  • 1 medium onion, grated
  • 1 egg
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • dried thyme & majoram


  1. Mix everything together thouroughly with your clean hands.
  2. Shape into meatloaf and roll in breadcrumbs.
  3. Splash some olive oil onto the bottom of a baking dish and place meatloaf on top.
  4. This takes about an hour to cook at 200°C.
  5. Halfway through cooking you can add a jar of passata, some crushed garlic and some whole small mushrooms if you like.
